A while back I promised to do a follow-up to my Twilight post. I wanted to take yet another set of time-lapse photos on the Summer solstice (June 21st) but unfortunately I was done in by Iqaluit treachery and it rained for several days. Don’t get me wrong. I relished in the fact that it was cloudy and rained for about 4 days. Whenever there are thick heavy clouds it blocks out the sun and midnight almost gets sorta dark.
Anyway. I won’t bore you to tears with more details with words. I’ll just let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy!
… just so you know, by 4am it looks like pre-8pm once again. Thankfully though the longest day of the year was spent under cloud cover so it’s all downhill from here. I will twiddle my fingers menacingly as I await my beloved darkness to engulf the wonderful city of Iqaluit.

Yeah. I was never a fan of rain till I came up here. But alas, the worst is over and now my minions of the night will slowly start coming out of the woodwork. Okay… so that’s still a long while off but it’s coming!
OMG I’d die. I mean….I’m not quite sure what I’d do without my beloved night time darkness. You poor things….quick! Somebody boil some water or something. Isn’t that what they do in movies when there is an emergency?
Oh. Well since no one is in labor, carry on with the thumb twiddling.
Unfortunately now we get to deal with the horde known as mosquitoes. I just got tipped off to the first bitings. According to what we’ve heard the horror movie tag line would be – Pray the wind doesn’t die.
Oh no….that would screw with me way more than round the clock darkness. The sun just turns around and comes back!
Yeah. It’s totally annoying. It just mocks you all day.
